Mindful Moments Summer Yoga Program (Ages 5-10)

Kids Summer and yoga—a great combination! Our Summer Yoga program is designed to provide kids with a fun, creative, educational and enriching experience. Through a combination of yoga poses and games, group activities, themed craft projects, relaxation time, and more, kids will be able to strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits. We offer a non-competitive, nurturing and supportive environment where kids can learn to learn to work cooperatively as well as learn to care for and nurture themselves. Each week- long camp is sure to create lasting memories, new friendships, and a foundation for health and well-being!
Each week-long program is unique, so students can register for multiple weeks. Taught by certified Little Flower Yoga instructors and inspired by the Little Flower Yoga yoga and mindfulness curriculum. For more information visit (www.littlefloweryoga.com)

Teen Mindfulness & Yoga Intensive (Grades 6-12)

August 25th- August 29th from 3:00p-6:00p Group A: Grades 6-8 Group B: Grades 9-12
Teenage years are some of the most stressful of your life. Up to 70 percent of teens say they're stressed out, and with pressure about grades at school, parents who just don't seem to get it, and friends who drive you crazy, it's no wonder. In this 5-day training, your teen will learn simple mindfulness-based strategies for getting stress under control, building the skills needed to deal with problems and difficult feelings that life brings teens in high school and beyond.
This course is designed to help middle school and high school age teens see their lives with greater clarity, creativity, kindness and compassion. It is intended for those who are interested in learning mindfulness and yoga and are willing to explore and practice it. Please note this is not a therapy group. Using Mindfulness techniques, teens will practice being aware of their body, emotions and thoughts with a friendly, accepting attention that supports wise responses in daily living.

- Try new things like meditation, which is not "emptying your mind" but learning to pay attention and relate more skillfully to what's going on right now in your mind and body.
- Talk about how to let go of self-criticism and judgment, and how to be with emotional and physical pain without adding to it.
- Have the opportunity to think about the real pressures teens face daily, and how yoga and mindfulness practices can help not just manage stress but experience more moments of calm and happiness.
- Learn simple yoga routines will be taught to help teens to reduce stress, sleep better, and be more at ease in the body.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Little Lotus Buds (Ages 3-5)
Children will experience and learn more than 50 unique and engaging yoga postures, rhymes and activities. Children delight in practicing yoga, discovering new movements and singing together while increasing flexibility, body awareness, coordination, and balance
Kids Yoga (Ages 6-9)
This yoga class provides a great way for your child to unwind and exercise after a long school day. In a non-competitive and nurturing environment, learning over 35 different yoga poses and sequences. Thematic ideas such as peace, respect, & acceptance will be introduced. This class provides a fun filled way to cultivate self-esteem and body awareness. Yoga style games refine co-operation and listening skills and introduce mindfulness and other awareness based practices. Our goal is to develop strong minds and bodies while learning to release tension, focus, and relax.
Pre-Teen Yoga (Ages 10-12)
Classes emphasize stress reducing yoga postures and class discussions on how the yoga practices can be applied to our daily lives. Yoga is especially helpful for teenagers in the following ways: helps create a strong and flexible body and mind, helps to create a sense of self acceptance and inner peace, helps get you through life’s “trouble spots”, helps with focus and concentration, and enhances performance in sports and other extracurricular activities.

earn effective yogic tools to handle stress, anger, anxiety, depression, and other challenges facing teens. Practice breathing techniques to calm, energize, and balance the nervous system, practice flowing sequences, challenging poses, partner and group poses, restorative yoga, and deep relaxation. Dive deeper into the history and philosophy of yoga, Sanskrit, and meditation. Students will develop compassion and self-confidence, empowering them to be agents of peace in the world.

Yoga and Nutrition for Autism Spectrum Disorder
In this six-week session, children with autism spectrum disorder (ages 3-9) will participate in a 45 minute yoga class led by a certified special education teacher while parents join a certified special education teacher and holistic health coach in a 45 minute discussion surround diet and autism. Let your children move while you learn to fuel their body for optimal functioning.
